Introduction
Minzu University of China (MUC) is one of national key comprehensive universities, consistently recognized and included in the Project 211, Project 985 and Double First Class for universities in China. MUC focus on the humanities and social sciences, with ethnic as its distinctive feature. It offers a comprehensive range of academic disciplines and provides education at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. With students from 56 ethnic groups in China and more than 50 countries worldwide, MUC has become a place of diverse cultural convergence, interaction and integration.
The duration of study lasts for one semester or more. Classes begin in the beginning of March and September every year. Based on students’ Chinese proficiency, classes are arranged for beginner, elementary, intermediate and advanced. Chinese language courses include comprehensive Chinese, Chinese listening, Chinese speaking, Chinese reading, Chinese writing. Students may also select courses such as folk dance, China’s ethnic music instrument, Chinese calligraphy, painting, paper-cut, martial art, HSK intensive training courses etc. Generally, Chinese language courses are taught in 20 hours per week, 16 weeks per semester. The students who have completed the courses requirements can obtain their transcripts and certificates of completion at the end of the semester. The Chinese language program cannot provide credits certificate.
In addition to the coursework, the international students can participate in various cultural experience activities, and interact with Chinese students in MUC, to feel a colorful campus life with the integration of multi-ethnic culture.

The applicant should a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, above 18 years old in good health condition.

Application Procedures
1.Login to MUC Application System for International Students (Link), and complete the online application(Click to download Guide for Online Application);
Required materials to submit:
• The Photocopy of Passport.
• The Copy of Highest Academic Diploma.
• Proof of Language Proficiency:HSK certificates or Chinese learning transcripts/certificates(if any).
• Other documents if necessary.
2. Pay the application fee;
3. Check the application result;
4. After being admitted, the applicant will receive an Admission Notice Letter and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202/JWDQ form) to the student by email.

Accommodation
Our international student apartment building (West Gate International House) is located outside the west gate of the campus. The room rate is as follows: AB single room (CNY 70-80/bed/day), AB double room (CNY 55/bed/day), quad room (CNY 55/bed/day). The rooms are equipped with air conditioner, washing machine, refrigerator, kitchen, bathroom (with shower), bed, desk, wardrobe, and wireless internet.
Medical Insurance
According to the regulations of the People’s Republic of China, international students are required to purchase Chinese comprehensive medical insurance. Students should pay it upon registration. Medical insurance payment is a must to complete your registration.
