Ⅰ.Introduction
The program proceeds in “1+1” mode, that is, students are required to do full-time course study, research work and preparation for dissertation writing at Minzu University of China in their first academic year. Students are required to go back to their home countries to complete their dissertation based on their study and working experience, and come to China to pass thesis defense in their second academic year. The qualified will be awarded with degrees.

● Master’s Programs on Ethnology and Anthropology;
● Master’s Program on “Belt and Road” International Communication;
● Master’s Program on the History of Relations between China and the “Belt and Road” Countries.
2. Duration: 2 years(“1+1” mode);
3. Teaching language: English

Ⅳ. Eligibility
1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, be in good health and be under the age of 45;
2. Bachelor’s degree or above, with three years or more working experience; those with professional learning or working background related to the applied program are preferred.
3. Applicants must be:
① Public officials at or above the department director level (or corresponding level) of the government departments of his country;
② Senior management staff at institutions, enterprises etc.;
③ Administrative staff of universities and scientific research institutions;
④ Those with work experience or internships in international organizations.
Ⅴ. Coverage of Scholarship
● Tuition waiver;
● Free accommodation on campus or accommodation subsidy;
● Stipend: Master’s students CNY 3,000 per month
● Comprehensive Medical Insurance: CNY 800 per year

Ⅵ. Application Procedure and Documents
i. Application Procedure
1. Applicants should submit the application via the CSC Online Application System for Study in China (Link), and download the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship. The type of this scholarship is Type A. The agency number is 1563, the applicants need to find "Youth of Excellence Scheme of China".
2. Please log in to the MUC Online Application System for International Students (Link), complete the online application and upload the required materials.
3. Please send the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship to schlr@muc.edu.cn, with the title Application for Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program.
4. The qualified applicants will receive a pre-admission notice via email from MUC, then please upload it to CSC System within the specified time.
ii. Application Documents
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship(in Chinese or English).
2. Notarized highest diploma and Employment Certificate. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translation.
3. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.
4. A study plan or research proposal in English. Applicants should write at least 1000 words. Please refer to the template in the attachments.
5. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors(in Chinese or English). These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad.
6. Language qualification certificates. Applicants should provide certificates to prove their English language proficiency, such as their IELTS /TOFEL test reports, or other certificates recognized by MUC. Applicants from an English-speaking country or whose university education is taught entirely in English are not required to provide English test scores (certificates of English as the medium of instruction are required)
7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months. Please refer to the template in the attachments.
8. Copy of first page of passport. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2023), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.
9. Non-Criminal Record Report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
10. Individual works: The applicant for the arts or design program shall provide his/her own works (such as videos and paintings) via the online application system.
11. Supervisor Acceptance Letter (if any): The letter shall include the information of a prospect supervisor from Minzu University of China, the descriptions of the applicant’s studies or research in China etc. Please refer to the template in the attachments.
